DraftKings offers a variety of contest types with contest entry fees starting as low as $0.25. DraftKings also offers freerolls which award prizes for entering into cash contests for free.

Regardless of the sport, all contests have a salary cap amount of $50,000. Each position in the lineup must be filled with a player. Each player is assigned a $ value, and the cost of all the players in your lineup cannot exceed the $50,000 cap amount but it can be less than the cap amount. Once your lineup has been created, you can submit it into your contest of choice.

You can create lineups for your sport before entering any contest if you wish. Simply select your sport, contest start time, and fill out your lineup, then save it. Now it will always be available for the upcoming contests for that particular sport and contest time. You can create as many lineups as you wish.

You can edit your lineups before the contests start. For convenience, there is a global player swap feature that lets you swap out a particular player that you may have in multiple lineups, and replace him with a different player, all at the same time.

DraftKings also provides a Late Player Swap feature. This feature allows you to swap out a player as long as his particular game has not yet started, even if other players in your lineup have started their particular games, which are now locked for them. This feature is handy in case there is a last-minute injury or depth chart change that would otherwise hurt your lineup.

You can view the live scoring of any of your contests in real-time. The higher your score, the bigger your cash payouts, depending on contest type.

DraftKings Contest Types

DraftKings features the following contest types:

Guaranteed Tournaments

Tournaments have Guaranteed Prize Pools (GPP), meaning that even if these contests do not completely fill, the prize payout structure is guaranteed to payout as dictated by their pre-defined terms. Tournaments are the most popular contest types as they offer the largest money payouts. For example, in week 1 of the NFL, one particular contest is guaranteed to payout $10 Million.

Head to Head (H2H)

Head to head contests are two players playing against each other. The highest score between the two wins it all.

50/50s and Multipliers

50/50 contests basically pays the winners double their entry fee (less the rake) if your scores rank in the top half of all contest entrants.

Multipliers come in various payout amounts. For example, triple-ups pay the top third finishers 3X their entry fees. There are other multiplier variations available like 4X, 5X, 10X, etc.

Leagues

Leagues work like tournaments but these contests are not guaranteed meaning if these contests do no completely fill before the contest start time, they will not run. League tournaments can have varying entry size fields, entry fee amounts, and money payout structures.

Qualifiers

Qualifier tournaments award winners seats into larger money payout contests. Some contests offered can only be entered into by winning a qualifier tournament first.

You can create your own contests as well. To create your own contest, select the Create a Contest link, select your sport, contest start time, either public or private, contest type of either H2H or League, the entry fee amount, and a prize structure if creating a league.

Steps

There are a total of four steps. Winning a step 1 ticket, grants a free entry into a step 2 contest and this pattern continues. You could also buy your way into a higher step contest directly at a higher entry fee than the previous steps. Step 1 contests have an entry fee of $2. If you win all four steps, your cash prize is $200.

DraftKings Mobile Site

The DraftKings mobile site provides all the features the full website provides, but it is slower than the app version. The app can be downloaded to your mobile device from DraftKings after you register your account. Click here to sign up!

The site home page is your starting point. From here, you can quickly access the lobby, create/edit lineups, create contests, or access your account details.

The full list of available features can be accessed by tapping on the 3-bar icon in the upper left-hand corner. Additional features here provide access to such features as your account, global player swap, customer support, etc.

The lobby lists all the contests that are available. There are filtering options at the top of the app that assists you in filtering down to your desired contest type (i.e. 50/50s, tournaments, etc.) and sorting options to list the available contests by various categories like entry fee amounts, entry sizes, prize pool amounts, etc.

Once you have selected a contest to enter, you can always view the contest details if you wish. Once you tap on the contest, then simply fill out your lineup by position, and enter it when this is completed. That’s it.

You can sign up directly through the mobile site. Tap the log-in button in the upper right-hand corner which will take you to the sign-up page. Enter our exclusive promo code BALLERS in the Promo Code box towards the bottom to guarantee that you are authorized to receive the highest possible deposit bonus offered by DraftKings.

DraftKings Mobile App

The DraftKings mobile app is free and can be downloaded straight from the DraftKings.com website for Android devices and for iOS devices, the free app can be downloaded from the Apple store.

The DraftKings mobile app is easy to navigate through and provides a lot of the functionality of the full website, but not everything. Some of the features the app lacks versus the website are that there is no global player swap feature. The app also does not provide team or player detail info, like team depth charts for example.

Although the DraftKings app does not provide all the features that are available on the mobile site, it does work faster. From the Home page, you have access to whatever functions you would need to have, like creating lineups, creating contests, joining contests in the lobby, making deposits/withdrawals, and viewing your live, upcoming, and completed contests.

The DraftKings app is quick functioning as well as sleek and simple in design. It is the recommended option versus using the mobile website alone.
