Ruud van Nistelrooy is United's only injury concern ahead of the Premiership trip to Wigan on Monday night.
The Dutch striker, who was an unused substitute in last Sunday's Carling Cup final, missed Holland's 1-0 win over Ecuador with a stomach bug.
With the players given a deserved day off on Thursday, the club are yet to learn the full extent of van Nistelrooy's complaint.
"I haven't heard any reports of any injuries from the internationals," revealed Fergie on Friday morning. "But we know Ruud had a problem with a stomach upset. We'll have to wait and see how he is.
"I expect everyone else is going to be fit which is always a blessing."
Van Nistelrooy's omission from last weekend's action in Cardiff caused quite a stir in the media, but Sir Alex believes competition for places amongst his strikers can only have a positive effect on the team.
"Competition is good and players benefit from it whether it's from their own team-mates or from the opposition," insisted the Reds' boss.
"If you go back a few years when we had four strikers [Cole, Yorke, Sheringham and Solskjaer] it was always difficult to pick teams and there was always disappointment back then.
"Players benefit from competition whether it's from their own team-mates or from the opposition."
"Everybody wants to play in a game of football, particularly a final, but Louis [Saha] deserved to play.
"I don't know if he was surprised but I think he would have been disappointed if he wasn't playing. It's natural. The only game he missed was the Barnet one because he was injured.
"Scoring twice against Birmingham, against West Brom, and in both legs of the semi-final is a feat and his form has been fantastic.
"If you don't play him in the final after scoring all those goals, he may say to himself: 'I can get a regular place somewhere else'"
When asked whether van Nistelrooy might feel the same way having missed out on last Sunday's triumph, Sir Alex said defiantly: "After one game? No, I don't think so.
"As I said Louis deserved to play, there's no doubt about that. Everything else is secondary."
