Ruud confident of Holland success
Saturday, June 10, 2006
Ruud said that he is unconcerned of his future with Manchester United after rumours of him leaving Old Trafford.
Ruud van Nistelrooy believes the Holland team can perform well in the World Cup 2006.
"I am not thinking about what happened in Manchester," Ruud said. "All my concentration is on what I can do with Holland."
"For us, the challenge is to emulate the two generations before us that were really successful," he added. "Cruyff and his team led the way in the 70s.
"Then Van Basten, Rijkaard, Koeman and Gullit were as fantastic in the late 80s and early 90s.
"Now it is our chance."
Ruud said: "I feel fit and in good form and part of a team that is growing.
"It may not be very experienced but with every practice session we have been getting better."
