Ruud rues penalty miss

Ruud van Nistelrooy is refusing to take credit for his equaliser against Lyon after his penalty miss.

The Dutch striker smashed in the equaliser from a yard out as Real battled back from being 2-0 down to salvage a 2-2 result, but also had a spot-kick saved.

Ruud said: "We have fought and we have shown great character. But I am very disappointed to have missed that penalty. It's not good to have missed so many penalties.

"I believe that we played well in the second-half. The first belonged to Lyon. It was a good result after going 2-0 down."
