Ruud targets award

Ruud van Nistelrooy is determined to secure the title for Real Madrid and the Pichichi award for himself.

"We are in a very advantageous position right now, but there are still four more matches to play," he said at a promotional event for Audi yesterday.

"We need to stay calm and focused and, above all, take it one game at a time.

"I will fight to be the Pichichi. I try to perform well in every single match; that's just the way I am.

"Let's wait to see how it all ends. I hope we can soon look back and realise that we did a great campaign.

Guti, also present at the ceremony, gave his views:

"To win La Primera, we are going to need self-confidence, reliability, power and many other things.

"We also need to be lucky, fully concentrated, and in top physical shape. It's going to be four very tense matches for us, but we're hoping to pocket all four."
