Ruud rescues Holland

Ruud van Nistelrooy scored in injury time for the Netherlands to beat Albania 1-0 in European Championship qualifying Wednesday.

Substitute Urby Emanuelson crossed to the Real Madrid striker who scored with a low shot from close range. Netherlands dominated the match and midfielders Wesley Sneijder and Robin van Persie had the best chances with their shots stopped by Albanian goalkeeper Arjan Beqaj.

Albania played with 10 men after midfielder Lorik Cana was ejected in the 87th after clashing with Sneijder and Van Nistelrooy.

Netherlands has 20 points and Albania nine points in Group G.
