Ruud van Nistelrooy spoke of Real Madrid's defeat to Werder Bremen, admitting that the German side simplt brought more into the game.

"We lost here and it was difficult for the entire team," said the Dutchman. "We knew it would be tough here. Our objective was one point, but we lost.

"It was their [Werder's] last chance. They had everything at stake, but so did we. But now, we have to wait until the last match to qualify.

"We're still top of the group and we will put all on the line at home. The good thing is that we qualify if we win at home.

"Our goal is one more point and we'll go after it in the Bernabéu against Lazio."

Real Madrid are also beginning to develop a Barcelona-like problem away from home, having picked up just one point from their last three games on the road.

"We've won everything at home and had problems on the road, but we're going to improve," he added.

"We have to come out on top and work as hard as ever. It's a complicated group comprised of four good teams.

"We had the chance to move through to the next round in Greece and we did here as well. Hopefully the third time is a charm."
