Ruud back in training

Real Madrid's injury woes seem to be lessening following news that Ruud van Nistelrooy was able to take to the turf at training today...
The Dutch master has been out of action recently with an ankle injury, but was able to join his comrades on the practice pitch at Valdebebas today.
It's too early to confirm, but signs are positive that the hitman could manage a return to the 18-man matchday squad in time to face Deportivo on Saturday evening.
Fabio Cannavaro, meanwhile, has recovered from the ailment that saw him miss the weekend win over Espanyol and is currently match fit. Gonzalo Higuain and Miguel Torres are also expected to be rejoin full training soon after nursing their own minor knocks.
Fernando Gago worked in the gym, while Arjen Robben and Christoph Metzelder remain sidelined, the latter for the medium-term.
Madrid travel to the Riazor with an eight point lead at the top of La Liga, but coach Bernd Schuster will be under no illusions ahead of this clash, knowing that the blancos haven't won at the Riazor in the league since 1991.
