Ruud Out Of Almería Clash

After serving his suspension, Ruud Van Nistelrooy was expected to return for Real Madrid this weekend - but the Dutchman has not recovered from injury and will miss the match with Almería...
Ruud Van Nistelrooy might not be the most spectacular player in Spain but there is no doubting the stats, which so far this season read ten goals in eleven matches. The Dutchman however will not be able to add to that tally this weekend as he has been ruled out of Real Madrid's match against Almería due to injury.
He picked up the knock in the match in Turin a few weeks ago against Juventus and was expected to recover, but today Bernd Schuster announced that, "Ruud continues to have problems in his knee that he started against Juventus and we thought he was going to recover but it is not to be."
The news means that Gonzalo Higuaín, who has been in brilliant form of late, scoring seven goals so far, will probably be given another start for the Almeria match.
This will be the third game in a row that Van Nistelrooy has missed after his red card against Atlético Madrid ruled him out of the Athletic Bilbao clash last week, before he was ommitted from the Copa Del Rey clash in midweek.
Real Madrid face Almería on Sunday evening as they bid to win their third consecutive game in La Liga.
